I had a couple of friends from the States visiting me in Amsterdam and they inquired about what day trips were possible.  I was only half-joking when I said “So many options – we could even go to Paris for lunch!”  It’s one of those things that you find remarkable when you are from a large country like the U.S. where you can travel three hours without even crossing a state line.
